NEW DISCIPLINE - HOVERCRAFT

In the heart of the southern swamps, the Off-Road family has found a brand-new way to impact nature while having a blast with hovercraft races. Behind the wheel of these air-cushion rockets, both water and land make the perfect surface to slide and speed while bouncing off obstacles and competitors.

This brand-new motorsport discipline has taken over the entire US, transforming some of the most iconic places into dedicated competition spots, from the lush and muggy Bayous to the crystal-clear waters of the Western lakes. Racers can discover unique vehicle handling, master the most varied terrains, and be part of a new wave of champions!

Three new Hovercrafts will be available for all players to earn or purchase through in-game credits when Gator Rush is available on September 26:

NEW DIFFICULTY LEVEL AND PART RARITY

For players who thrive under extreme pressure, Gator Rush is bringing an extra difficulty level: the Ace mode. All 130+ challenges included in The Crew®2 are taken to the next level, allowing players to get a taste of the elite and become part of it. To unlock the Ace mode, you’ll first need to complete an event in Normal and Hard mode.

With great challenge comes great reward: the new Legendary loot parts award better performance and exclusive affix bonuses, allowing players to enhance every ride in the most unique and customized way.

COMPETE IN 20+ NEW ACTIVITIES ALL ACROSS THE US

Hovercraft isn’t the only new challenge coming in The Crew® 2 this September. Additional Hypercar, Touring Car, and Jetsprint events will fire up the competition, while the latest episode of the Live Xtrem Series will take players through an exhilarating threefold race, including Rally Cross, Hypercar, and Hovercraft segments. New Skills will also be added to the open world for some of your favorite disciplines.

Get ready for September, gearheads! Gator Rush is closing on the shores of Motornation, and we can’t wait for the hovercraft-fueled madness that will ensue!

In the heart of the Bonneville Salt Flats, a brand new arena has been specifically designed to host this chaos. Once unleashed in this obstacle-laced circus, players have but one goal: destroying their opponents’ vehicles while keeping their own in (almost) one piece. No holds are barred, and to spice the challenge up even further bonuses will occasionally appear across the arena, rewarding the fastest to reach them.

Other Demolition Derby events will take players racing at breakneck speed around a new circuit, built in the heart of the Tucson aircraft cemetery. Battle for first place and take care not to be shoved off the track!

EVENTS & SKILLS – Like our first update in September, The Crew® 2 Demolition Derby will also be adding brand new events to existing disciplines, namely Drift, Alpha Grand Prix and Rally Cross. You can also get ready to experience the latest episode of the LIVE Xtrem Series: Holiday Special, as well as 10 new skills in free drive.

LIVE CONTRACTS – The LIVE Bus is now up and running in every HQ, offering players Daily Contracts with Crew Credit rewards. These contracts are random and different for each player, and can be based in any in-game activity: events, skills, photo ops, treasure hunts, freestyle, roaming…

Players receive one contract per day, as well as one reroll. There is no time-limit and uncompleted contracts will appear the following day, along with the new daily contract, up to a maximum of three stacked contracts.

PHOTO SET – Eight new Demolition-themed photo quests will also be available in our December update.

Livebattle/PVP – Last but certainly not least, The Crew® 2 Demolition Derby is bringing PvP to Motornation! You can find out all about it HERE in our dedicated article.

On December 5, our The Crew® 2 Demolition Derby update will bring PvP to Motornation. This new multiplayer mode will allow up to 8 players to compete against each other in a free-for-all system, across all four motorsports families.

PvP is available right off the bat at Rookie level, once you’ve unlocked your first HQ. All vehicle levels will automatically be maxed, so don’t worry if you’re just starting out. Likewise, if you don’t own a particular vehicle type then it will be lent to you.

When you’re ready, simply head to the Live Battle tent to get involved! You will be able to choose between two playlists, populated with the The Crew® 2’s wide range of events and disciplines.

The Race playlist is purely made up of Street Race and Hypercar events, and remains fixed. Collisions are off by default.

The second playlist draws from all the game’s disciplines, except Drag Race and Air Race. It will change daily to provide you with mixed thematic experiences that could be based on whole families, specific disciplines, or a custom selection.

Once you’ve chosen a playlist, you will be matchmade into a lobby with 7 other players and will be able to vote on your preferred event. The event with the most votes is then run.

The events displayed on the vote screen are always random, from among your chosen playlist. However, if a race is particularly close-fought and you’d like to try your hand at it again, you can also vote for the Revenge option. This simply runs the previous event again, to give you another chance at the podium!

And speaking of podiums, it goes without saying that you are rewarded for playing PvP with followers, loot and Bucks, allowing you to continue progressing to Icon level and beyond. The amount you gain will depend on your performance.

Additionally, whenever you play in PvP you will be competing in a League ranking system. There are four Leagues: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Each League is split into four divisions, 4 being the lowest and 1 the highest. The lowest ranking a player can reach is therefore Bronze 4, and the best Platinum 1.

League points are won or lost according to your performance in events, with the exact number dependent on yours and your opponents’ current rank.

With the release of The Crew® 2 Demolition Derby, we are introducing a variety of new fixes and improvements to your game experience.

In addition to the December vehicle drop and 4 Demolition Derby vehicles, we’re thrilled to reveal the final 8 new vehicles added with this update!

Wall-riding & wall-bouncing improvements
With the introduction of the Live Battle PVP mode, it was important for us - in addition to our current efforts on the leaderboards cleaning - to develop a fair competitive experience to all players. To do so, the dev team has been working on an update of the vehicle collision model (see below for more information), which includes an important focus on the impact of obstacles to your vehicle speed and behavior. Indeed, where it was sometimes more effective to bounce head-on off a wall or slide along it thanks to limited friction, the game will now encourage players to use the best trajectories to get the best results. We will continue to improve this model through further updates.

Collisions & damage models
With this improved collision model, we also reworked the behavior of vehicles when bumping into static elements or traffic. Our objective is to offer a more realistic behavior that would offer a coherent reaction based on the impact source and strength. For instance, traffic cars’ behavior following a hit will be more predictable and should no longer overlap the player’s vehicle. We also improved the deformation model to better reflect player’s driving style and reduced dramatically the crash cam occurrences, along with a reduction of the Back-on-Track time. Vehicles will automatically repair over time when not being hit or whenever you join an event.

Rally Raid handling
In our will to continuously improve the driving sensations of the game, we are introducing a reworked version of the Rally Raid vehicles handling. Vehicles are no longer being forced back on the track, especially when being on air, leading to longer jump times and potentially rocky landings. The drift sensations are being improved on both asphalt and dirt, giving you a more challenge gameplay experience where you trajectory really matters. Our goal was to provide a more realistic feeling but worry not, low v-level performances have also been boosted to make sure you will not remain stuck in slopes!

Illumination system
To provide a better experience at any time of the day, we have also been working on the illumination system of the game. To do so, we improved both the way lights are now projected but also how they are displayed to the player, reducing visual gameplay obstructions. A gamma slider is now available in the game menu to allow players customizing their display preferences, this one will be prompted at your next game launch.

Controls
With the great variety of events and the FastFav feature, our objective is to offer the best experience for all motorsport enthusiasts. With this update, we will be introducing a new feature allowing PC players to customize their key mapping for each type of vehicle. Behavior & feeling is very different between a car or a plane for instance, you will now have the opportunity to completely adapt your controls accordingly.

The driving wheel Logitech G920 is now also officially supported in The Crew® 2.

The Crew Hub
Available since the release of The Crew® 2 Gator Rush, the The Crew Hub platform is also evolving on December 5! In addition to a revised “Best” sorting algorithm, to better promote quality content from the community, we will also be adding new features and improvements to this page. Filters are now available, allowing you to only display screenshots featuring specific families, type of vehicles or even brands! Found this in the patch notes for Hot Shots:

• [Fixed] Player is unable to view photographs from world map from any completed Photo Quest.

I still don't see any pics I've taken before Release of Gator Rush in last September when I klick the photo highlights on the world map. And I don't see them in the activities chapter in the menu. It's just as if they are gone, like deleted.
See you on the road ... and the sea ... and in the air ;) :lol:
