Direct Drive Wheel support

Post by Weena »

Well I heard someone saying.... Oh yeah, Direct Drive Wheels will run on every Game.

But how about The Crew 2 ?

I found a post from a DDW user saying its not working.
Quote:

My rig : SimuCUBE OSW Direct Drive wheel w/ Small MiGE (20 Nm) motor, Bodnar SLI-Pro based Momo Mod 30 custom wheel w/ shifters and buttons, Fanatec CSR Elite pedals & Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter (tested in analog handbrake mode).

In the control mapping screen it detected all 4 USB inputs, this is great to see. With bit of guess which of which input was which, I was able to map all basic controls across all 4 inputs I use. The SimuCUBE input page when calibrating my wheel left and right was able to detect the input, and showed a steering wheel icon (with left and right arrows respectively) giving me a bit of hope. But while the wheel icon was shown here, I was unable to access the advanced wheel setup menu. I try the game anyway. All inputs appear to be working... but my wheel has no force feedback and the sensitivity is way off.

He has this kind of wheel. https://www.simracingbay.com/product/si ... m110-case/ Which I like and was thinking about buying at some point in the future. But probably not if it´s not working with The Crew 2 of course.

Another option could be the New DDW from Fanatec. They say it will be released on 13.07.2018. Will this run with TC2 ?

Re: Direct drive wheelsupport

They barely get the job done supporting the most common wheels, so i highly doubt they will ever support DD-wheels.

btw: i merged your post with the "required systemspec"-thread, because it's fitting. I hope you don't mind.

I know for a fact that OSW DD wheels work flawlessly on just about any racing game you can think of.
This was tested by a friend of mine that has 2 DD wheels (1 OSW and another chinese DD wheel) and alltho he hasnt tested it in TC2 yet...
I am pretty sure they will work when the full game comes out since they use the same
input as gamepads, why it gave him trouble i dont know but i bet it has to do with the game not nearly beeing completed yet.
I'll ask him to bring some gear over and test it with TC2 once the full game is out and report about what's the deal then

AVX-Problem - i remember Tenchi had that - is fixed. So the open beta and full game will be playable for the players who suffered from it.
