Leaked concept art for the next Forza game implies it’ll be set in Asia rather than the UK, but the artwork may not be all that it seems…

Considering there’s been a new Forza game every year for the last seven years it doesn’t take much power of clairvoyance to imagine there’s going to be a new one this year.

And if it wasn’t for the rumour of developer Playground Games working on a reboot of Fable it’d be just as obvious that it’s going to be Forza Horizon 4.

In fact, that’s exactly what Xbox Spain said it’s going to be, so the real question becomes not whether it exists but where it’ll be set. And looking at this supposed concept art it looks like Hong Kong.

The earliest, but entirely unsubstantiated, rumours suggested that the game’s setting would be Japan. And while this concept does seem to be Hong Kong, it’s possible the overall theme may be East Asia in general.

The concept art first popped up on Reddit, but has since been traced back to production company Leading Light Design (who are also British, just like Playground Games).



The question is not so much whether the art is real but exactly how old it is. The Forza logo used is certainly an older version and none of the cars are recent.

Which doesn’t mean it’s fake, but it could mean the artwork is no longer relevant to the new game.

I just hope they will make a bigger map once again since the map for
each new horizon version doubles, but that might be a pipe dream.

Some more Infos:

- There will be over 450 cars to collect in Forza Horizon 4.
- You will be able to create your own races with Route Creator.
- There will be Drift Suspension upgrades
- You will be able to customize your characters appearance by changing their clothing and accessories. Over 500 unique items to choose from.
- For the first time ever, players will have the ability to own property in a Forza game. You heard that right. This will unlock new items and gameplay perks. E.g. buying a taxi company and carrying out missions will reward you with prizes.
- There are Forzathon Live events – you can complete Forzathon events with up to 12 players online.
- Speaking of online multiplayer, there will be 6 player co-op and 72 player servers!
- 2 downloadable expansions will be coming to the game during its life-cycle.
- Forza Horizon 4 will feature many different types of animals in the open world, e.g. sheep, deer, chickens and more!
- The weather will affect your driving. So much so, that your vehicles grip will change depending on weather conditions.
- You may have spotted bikes, blimps, and hovercrafts, but rest assured, those are just showcase events.
- Both the McLaren Senna and the 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 are the cover cars.

72 player servers ...

I guess "72-player-servers" does not mean 72 players in one session, but it sounds hardly like dedicated servers which would be future compared to the stoneage-system of The Crew (2). btw Turn10 always seems to do (nearly) the same stuff as Ivory Tower and it looks better (on paper), but we will drink tea and take a final look at it after release.

sidenote: The map will only be as big as in FH3, confirmed by Ralph Fulton on Twitter. So thats a definitive down from the start for us cruisers.
