First Quest-native Racing Sim to be Released on Quest 2 Next Week from Codemasters

Electronic Arts (EA) subsidiary Codemasters is releasing a virtual reality (VR) version of the popular racing sim game GRID Legends for Oculus Quest on January 12th. The game features a single player story mode, a race creator, and online multiplayer, but does not support cross-play with non-VR versions of the game. It can be pre-ordered on the Oculus Quest store for $27.

GRID Legends for Oculus Quest is expected to be a large download, weighing in at around 31.1GB. While this will be EA and Codemasters’ first native game for the Oculus Quest platform, both companies have released VR titles in the past. F1 2022, developed by Codemasters, received PC VR support, and EA’s Motive Studios released the arcade dogfighter game Star Wars: Squadrons for SteamVR and PSVR in October 2020. EA’s Respawn Entertainment also released Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond for Quest 2 and SteamVR headsets in December 2020.
