Gran Turismo 7 Skips January Update in Preparation for PS VR2 Support

Gran Turismo 7 Skips January Update. Gran Turismo 7, a racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, has been consistently releasing monthly free content updates since its March 2022 launch. However, in January 2023, the game skipped an update. This was likely to accommodate the work needed for GT7 to support PS VR2, a new VR headset exclusively compatible with PS5. Owners of GT7 will receive a free upgrade for the PS VR2 version.

New cars and new track locations

GT7 has added around 30 new cars and 2 new track locations, plus a few extra track layouts, through its post-launch updates. Despite a rocky start, where game servers went offline longer than expected, the updates have been controversy-free since then. The game addressed several issues, such as the lack of a car-selling feature, but some still linger. The online lobby remains less robust than expected, and grinding for credits is dull with only a few races offering a decent payout. Car prices in the Legendary Autos store also remain high.

Despite Gran Turismo 7 Skips January Update, GT7 remains one of the best racing games of 2022 and continues to improve with each update. As a launch title for PS VR2, the game offers an immersive racing experience.
